Incercand sa vad care este pulsul orasului in apropierea localelor, ieri am avut ocazia sa am o discutie destul de interesanta cu un taximetrist. Ajungand la capitolul “Dumitru Oprea” , acesta era foarte nemultumit ca in timpul mandatului sau de rector, sigla clasica a universitatii Al. I Cuza a fost inlocuita cu o noua sigla, plina de simboluri “misterioase” (cartea inchisa, cele 3 stelute, crucile ciudate de pe “Y”-ul alb).  Stim cu totii cum arata sigla universitatii dar cati stiu ce reprezinta cu adevarat simbolurile prezente pe aceasta.

Prietenul meu taximetrist insinua ca ar fi vorba de simboluri ce au legatura cu masoneria (referindu-se mai ales la acea carte inchisa), insa nefiind in cunostinta de cauza nu ma pot pronunta. Oricum ca student al acestei universitati sunt si eu curios asupra simbolisticii siglei. Astept pareri din partea “cunoscatorilor” .

In cadrul Consilului European din martie 2008 s-a definit si s-a discutat despre cea de-a cincea libertate care se doreste a fi intodusa alaturi de celelalte patru libertati fundamentale ale Uniunii Europene (liberatea mobilitatii persoanelor, a capitalului, a bunurilor si a serviciilor) : libertatea de circulatie a informatiei, cunoasterii si a rezultatelor cercetarii.

Ma alatur colegilor mei studenti liberali europeni in a saluta initiativa consiliului. Aveti mai jos textul comunicatului ELSN ( The European Liberal Student Network ) :

European Liberal Students welcome the Fifth Freedom of Knowledge

On 14 March 2008, the European Council uniting the heads of states and governments of all 27 EU-member states has declared that the EU must create a “fifth freedom” - the freedom of knowledge - which should be added to the four fundamental freedoms of the Union (the free movement of persons, capital, goods and services). In its conclusions, the Council has called, inter alia, for enhanced mobility of students and researchers, better working opportunities for scientists, continued higher education reforms, open access to knowledge and open innovation as well as for a better protection of intellectual property.

The European Liberal Student Network (ELSN) within the European Liberal Youth (LYMEC) explicitly compliments the European Council for its courageous step of lifting the freedom of knowledge on one level with the four other fundamental freedoms of the European Union. As liberal students we fully support the lifting of all red tape and restrictions on the spreading of knowledge. We therefore agree with the Council conclusions, not only because every declaration in favour of more freedom is dear to our liberal hearts, but because we are convinced that this fifth freedom is fundamental for the achievement of a European Union where there are no borders and limits for brilliant brains and excellent ideas.

ELSN and its member organisations as representatives of students from all over Europe will take responsibility in the promotion of the fifth freedom and will vehemently defend and contribute to all European actions that will contribute to its achievement. We are ready to take an active role in the development of practical ideas and we are willing to cooperate with European policy makers to foster the implementation of relevant policies.

We now call upon the EU institutions and the member states to take all necessary political, legal, administrative and financial steps in order to live up to the high goals set by the European Council. The European Liberal Students Network will closely follow all developments as a constructive partner, critical to every setback but enthusiastic towards all positive steps towards a European Union where the freedom of knowledge is not only a high goal but a reality!

Iata ca dupa o scurta pauza revin pe blog… Revin cu bucurie , cu mult optimism dar si cu putina nostalgie in suflet.

Sunt bucuros pentru ca:

- astazi peste 500 de studenti au fost alaturi de Cristi Adomnitei la lansarea candidaturii sale

- am demonstrat inca o data ca suntem cea mai puternica organizatie studenteasca politica

- avem un candidat la primarie care stie cu ce se mananca problemele si nevoile studentesti

- avem pe lista de consilieri locali PNL doi reprezentanti ai Clubului Studentesc Liberal Iasi : Oana Hriscu si Eduard Boz, reprezentanti de o deosebita valoare si care daca vor fi alesi se vor lupta cu toate fortele pentru studentii ieseni

- am sansa sa lucrez cu cea mai tare echipa studenteasca posibila

Sunt optimist pentru ca:

- studentii ieseni incep sa inteleaga importanta implicarii lor in viata publica si sa faca distinctie intre demagogie, minciuna, populism si profesionalism

- actuala generatie CSL a scos in evidenta destui colegi care si-au demonstrat valoarea si care s-au remarcat prin munca si caracterul lor, colegi care vor asigura cu succes continuitatea performantei in TNL Iasi.

- in urma mandatului meu care incet, incet se apropie de final va ramane cea mai puternica echipa pe care Clubul Studentesc Liberal a avut-o in ultimii ani

Sunt putin nostalgic pentru ca:

- din pacate anul acesta termin si eu; imi va fi dor de studentie si de tot ceea ce inseamna organizatii studentesti

Pentru toate acestea le multumesc colegilor mei : Tedi, Oana, Mihaela, Costel, Vlad, Catalin T. , Florin, Rush, Ciprian(impreuna cu biroul de pe Cuza) , Robert, Lucian, Alex, Catalin H. etc. (imi cer scuze daca am uitat pe cineva); impreuna sunt cea mai buna echipa studenteasca din Iasi. Sunt onorat sa ii am colegi si le multumesc pentru toata munca si seriozitatea de care au dat dovada pana acum. Le multumesc pentru satisfactia pe care o am acum intr-o seara de 5 aprilie …
